Kuku’s bandmate Mammet Mambetov reported this on his Facebook page.

“Emir-Usein Kuku was read a resolution where he is suspected under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity” and taken away. Two laptops, a phone, and 7 religious books not included in the list of prohibited literature were seized from his house,” he wrote.

Emir-Usein Kuku was detained at 8.25 on his way to work.

The Contact Group for Human Rights, according to its data, monitors violations, and in this regard, travels around the regions of Crimea to identify and record cases of violations of the rights of Crimeans. An important goal of monitoring, according to the coordinator of the group, is also “an objective assessment of the ongoing processes in the republic and the prevention of speculation on this topic.”

The Contact Group on Human Rights in Crimea maintains close relations with the Russian Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, as well as with the Crimean Field Mission for Human Rights.

In 2104, representatives of the group met three times with the Crimean governor Sergei Aksenov.
