The Crimean Telegraph weekly writes about this.

“The complex of buildings, which were on the balance sheet of the city education department, included historical objects - the former Berthier-Delagarde estate, which is protected as a cultural heritage not subject to privatization.
This building, where children from all over the USSR used to stay, is occupied by residents, carrying out European-quality renovations, strengthening their illegal positions with steel doors, and, it seems, shifting their personal utility bills onto the city budget,” the publication notes.

This occurs despite the fact that any work on cultural heritage sites is prohibited.

“Among the permanent residents of this trump building, for example, Zhanna Tochenyuk, who was married to the former director of the station, dug in. It is unknown who made the living space on the second floor of the historical building out of government property. But the Yalta children at the station were given a cold basement with bars as a classroom. It is clear that it is impossible to study here even with a strong desire. Therefore, the SUT building is occupied by only three people: the director, his deputy and the mentioned methodologist. And we won’t be surprised if at the station itself, where there are no sections left for children, payments for the same heating and utilities through the Yalta budget are scrolled to the maximum,” states the weekly.

Strangely, the material emphasizes, the Berthier-Delagard apartment building has already acquired a separate address: st. Kirova, 176, although until recently it was an indivisible part of a complex of historical buildings registered in the list of city property under one address: st. Kirova, 17.

“Today, frescoes are crumbling from the unique mansion of Berthier-Delagarde - a historical object is openly being destroyed for an unknown customer in order to lower its price before buying it out... This is understandable, because in the center of the city of happiness, besides SUT, there is practically no free land left that can still be sold off.” , - sums up the Crimean Telegraph.
