The graves of Soviet soldiers are being restored in Yalta
A large-scale cleanup has started in Yalta at the burial sites of Soviet soldiers who fought during the Great Patriotic War.
Deputy of the local city council Oleg Kopylov spoke about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kopylov, today the remains of one of the war participants who died in the battles for the peninsula were also reburied.
“Together with students, teachers and the leadership of educational institutions, work collectives and institutions, as part of the perpetual “Memory Watch” action, which we hold annually, today the 1st stage of a large-scale cleanup took place in the sector of military graves of soldiers of the Soviet army - liberators of the city of Yalta, on old cemetery on the street. On the same day, here, next to the honors, a Yalta soldier was buried, who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, whose remains were found in Crimea and who participated in the hostilities on our peninsula,” said Kopylov .
