Yalta, March 15 (Navigator, Astra Yazyka) – In the private zoo “Fairy Tale” in Yalta, a newborn zebra was named “Russia”. The name “Referendum” was chosen for the male cub.
Director of Skazka Oleg Zubkov told the Navigator correspondent about this.

According to him, the new female is the first zebra to be born at the zoo.
“We are patriots of Crimea. If a boy were born, we would name him Referendum, in honor of the historical event,” Zubkov noted. – Well, since a female was born, on the eve of the referendum, when Crimea makes its historic choice, the staff suggested calling her “Russia.” They named it, let it grow.”
The director of the zoo noted that there are no problems with animal food at Skazka. All 60 lions of the Taigan safari park in the Belogorsky district are also fed.
“We do not depend on the budget, and providing food for the animals is the task of the zoo owner, which I can cope with, despite the fact that we consume 500 kg of meat per day,” Zubkov noted.
He regrets and sympathizes with the zoos of Ukraine, which are in a deplorable state and are forced to ask for help from residents.
“The revolutionaries will have no time for animals for a long time,” Zubkov concluded.
