In Transcarpathia, the heads of the regional police department turned out to be racketeers
The SBU accused the leadership of one of the regional police departments of the Transcarpathian region of extorting kickbacks from a local entrepreneur for the opportunity to do business, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The investigation found that the head of the regional police department and his deputy forced a local entrepreneur to pay 5000 hryvnia monthly for the opportunity to engage in legal logging.
In order for the businessman to agree, the police created artificial obstacles in his activities, and also blackmailed him with criminal proceedings, the legality of the opening of which is being determined by SBU officers.
Law enforcement officers detained the deputy head of the regional department while receiving the next tranche in national currency, as well as three thousand dollars for closing the case.

Earlier on October 1, in the Odessa region, the heads of police units and border guards were detained for extorting money from their subordinates.
