Zaporozhye, June 19 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Zaporozhye city executive committee was besieged by activists of the Kyiv Automaidan, who decided to lustrate the local authorities.

Today, several dozen cars of the Kyiv Automaidan, as well as armored personnel carriers of the Zaporizhzhya self-defense, parked near the Zaporizhzhya City Executive Committee.
About a hundred picket participants, most of whom are activists of the Kiev Anti-Corruption Department of Lustration of Automaidan (SHARK), fighters of the Khortytsia regiment, local Maidan activists and representatives of the People's Rada of Zaporozhye, expressed their intention to “subject to immediate lustration the mayor of Zaporozhye Alexander Sin and his deputies, who are suspected in corruption,” reports the Mig publication.
As representatives of the metropolitan organization “SHARK” noted, they arrived in Zaporozhye after local Maidan activists approached them with a request to help “cleanse the city government of long-staying corrupt officials.”
According to Sergei Koba, an activist of the public organization “Automaidan” (Kiev), there is a lot of evidence of abuses by the Zaporozhye authorities, including “protection protection” for local businesses, theft of city property, beating of Euromaidan activists, connections with “titushki”.
“Zaporozhye is the base region. The last outpost between peace and the war that is going on in eastern Ukraine. If the separatists come here, it will be bad. Therefore, we are here now to help the Cossacks change the government and those corrupt officials who remain from the Yanukovych government,” Koba noted.
“SHARK” activists concentrated in several points of Zaporozhye, where they asked city residents to fill out questionnaires indicating known facts of abuse of city power. The results of the polls were promised to be published on Friday, June 20.
According to the protesters, the results of the polls will become a reason to contact law enforcement agencies, as well as the Verkhovna Rada, from which they want to demand the calling of early elections of local authorities in Zaporozhye.
