In Zaporozhye, unknown persons beat up a city council deputy from the Party of Regions, who oversees privatization
Zaporozhye, April 01 (Victoria Litovchenko) – Deputy of the Zaporozhye City Council from the Party of Regions Vasily Polyusov was beaten by unknown assailants and is in serious condition in the hospital.

According to preliminary information, at about 8:00 three unknown persons attacked the deputy as he was heading to his car in the courtyard of a house on the street. Budyonny.
The city party organization assumes that the attackers' goal was not robbery, since valuables remained untouched.
“This crime may be related to the political activities of Vasily Polyusov, threats recently received against him, and increased pressure on deputies from the Party of Regions,” the press service noted.
As reported by the public relations department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye region, information about the incident was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. The investigator of the Khortitsa regional department began criminal proceedings on the grounds of Part 2 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism committed by a group of persons).
Valery Polyusov heads the permanent commission of the Zaporozhye City Council on issues of communal property, resources, privatization and land relations, and heads the Khortytsia regional PR organization. It was planned that he would become a member of the temporary commission of the City Council to investigate citizens' appeals on facts of corruption, bribery and abuse of official position, the creation of which was initiated by members of the PR faction.
