An activist arrested by the SBU has disappeared in Zaporozhye. Father asks for help
In February of this year, the SBU in Zaporozhye arrested Maxim Grindyuk, who was posting leaflets about high housing and communal services tariffs. He was offered an exchange for a prisoner of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After leaving the SBU, Maxim disappeared. The father asks for help in finding his son.

“I ask for your help,” writes Maxim’s father Alexander Borisovich Grindyuk, “because in our country the laws only work, apparently, for those in power. And I don’t know how to deal with this alone.
My son disappeared, Maxim Aleksandrovich Grindyuk, born December 15.12.1992, 5. As a 06.02.15th year student at the Faculty of Journalism, on 5/XNUMX/XNUMX he posted XNUMX leaflets in which he drew people’s attention to the plight of the poor.
For this, he was arrested by SBU officers on suspicion of promoting terrorism. They offered him to be exchanged for prisoners of war of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, because he has a sister in the “DPR”, and she could exchange him. Maxim agreed, because his sentence was up to 15 years in prison, and also because thanks to this, some of the captured Ukrainians would also be released. After the exchange, which, according to the investigator, was supposed to take place within XNUMX hours, he immediately planned to return to Zaporozhye to continue his studies and defend his innocence in court.
From 07.02.15/27.03.15/27.03.15 to 258/3/256 he served in a pre-trial detention center, after which the court on 1/XNUMX/XNUMX, at the request of the SBU investigator, who found nothing but leaflets on him, changed the article from XNUMX-XNUMX to XNUMX-XNUMX, and betrayed him a preventive measure of house arrest. From the courtroom, Maxim was taken in handcuffs to the Zaporozhye Department of State Security Administration. And on the same day he was taken to the Kharkov region, presumably to Izyum, for exchange. The exchange has not taken place so far. There was and is no connection with him. I don’t know what’s wrong with him: whether he’s alive and well.
The SBU investigator claimed that he was transferred to the jurisdiction of the military. I asked him to return Maxim to Zaporozhye, since there is no exchange and is not expected. The official answer is that Maxim has been wanted since 30.03.15/100/29.05.15 and they do not know his whereabouts. Although I am XNUMX% sure that this is a lie. The police and prosecutor's office refuse my requests. On May XNUMX, XNUMX, we obtained a court decision that obliges the USBU to immediately bring Maxim to court to clarify the circumstances of his deprivation of liberty.
And again - silence. Nothing is being done, the decision of the judiciary is ignored, and my son remains unknown where and why. The investigative authorities don’t want to look for him, so I have to turn to the media for help.
I just want to know what's wrong with my son! Thanks for understanding! I am hope for your help!
Sincerely, Grindyuk Alexander Borisovich (+380509499323, +380974054753)"
Thank you!
