This is reported by the site Depo.Zaporizhzhya.
“The shell was thrown into the yard of regional council deputy Viktor Shcherbina at approximately 11 pm. Experts determined that it was an F-1 combat fragmentation grenade. The debris did not harm anyone, but damaged window glass and outbuildings. The owner of the house suggests that the attack may be related to his political activities. The police have not yet detained the attackers,” the publication says.
“Okay, I’m like a deputy. Let me be there... When a man is sitting and a woman is sitting, this is the worst thing, when they throw a grenade and an F-1 grenade,” says Viktor Shcherbina, the victim, a deputy of the Zaporozhye Regional Council from the BPP faction.
Later, almost at midnight, a car exploded and caught fire in the courtyard of the nine-story building. Almost simultaneously, the fire engulfed two neighboring cars. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the cars, local residents say, cannot be restored. People assume it was arson. However, the police do not confirm this version.
“A fire truck arrived and started extinguishing three cars. Two were completely burned, it all started with the blue one, the wind was blowing there. The second and third are just in front,” he says. Most likely arson. Because our territory is fenced off and when the lights were turned off, the guard was most likely here. He couldn’t control it there, but maybe they transferred everything there,” says Inna Aramets, a witness to the incident.
According to local media, until April 2016, Viktor Shcherbina (the deputy whose house was attacked) was the chairman of the district state administration of the Zaporozhye district, and before that he headed the funeral service of the Zaporozhye district council. In 2015, Viktor Shcherbina was suspected of corruption in the field of funeral services; his house was searched and documents were seized. Due to the specifics of her previous activities, Shcherbina has the nickname Coffin in some circles. In the Zaporozhye media, from time to time he is associated with the former supervisor of the region from Viktor Yanukovych, Evgeny Anisimov, nicknamed “Anisim”.
