The counterfeits were sold both under the brands of elite alcoholic beverages and lesser-known manufacturers in retail chains in the Zaporozhye region. The workshop's capabilities allowed the attackers to sell up to twenty thousand liters of low-quality alcohol every month.
During the searches, law enforcement officers found two thousand liters of alcohol-containing liquid and finished products, more than seven thousand counterfeit excise stamps, nine thousand labels for bottles of finished products, as well as related equipment. In total, excisable goods worth over three hundred thousand hryvnia were seized during the search.
Law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Art. 204 (Illegal production, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of selling excisable goods) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
