This act of vandalism was reported to the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration.
In the village of Obitochnoe, in the Chernigov district of the Zaporozhye region, Lenin stood for 70 years. And on September 1, employees of the utility company removed the monument using a truck crane. The village council made the decision to dismantle it back in July of this year.
The monument to the leader was transported to the warehouse of one of the local enterprises.
It has not yet been decided who will replace Lenin on the pedestal.
Let us note, as PolitNavigator reported, the issue of demolition of the Lenin monument in Zaporozhye was to be decided by deputies of the Zaporozhye City Council at the last session on August 26. However, the deputies refused to put this issue even on the agenda.
