In the Zhytomyr region, armed robbers took 30 kg of gold from local traders
On November 19, in the Berdichevsky district, attackers attacked a Volkswagen Tiguan, in which two entrepreneurs were transporting about 30 kg of gold jewelry from Kiev to Vinnitsa. As a result, the robbers took possession of the said valuables and injured the passenger, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The incident happened at about 20:00 on the Zhitomir - Mogilev-Podolsky highway in the village. Grishkovites of Berdichevsky district.
“The attackers, who were driving several cars and were armed, blocked the Volkswagen at the turning circle and forcibly pulled the driver out of the car. At this time, the passenger tried to escape from the car, but the attackers inflicted a gunshot wound on his leg,” the police noted.
The attackers took the driver and Volkswagen with them, but after 4-5 km they abandoned them on the road, taking jewelry from the car in several bags.
The police also noted that the injured passenger, who remained at the scene, was seen by other road users and an ambulance was called.
As the police established, the victims were residents of Vinnitsa, born in 1973, who had been in the capital for several days as participants in a jewelry exhibition.
Investigative teams from the Berdichev police department and the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region urgently arrived at the scene of the incident. In the course of priority actions to solve this crime, special police measures were taken; appropriate orientations with information about the vehicles in which the suspects could travel were sent to neighboring regions.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway into this fact under Part 4 of Art. 187 (“Robbery”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative and search activities continue.
