The Zhitomir Military Institute named after Sergei Korolev is now in charge of NATO
NATO is assisting Ukraine in creating a comprehensive course for training cyber defense specialists on the basis of the Zhytomyr Military Institute named after Sergei Korolev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it reported on the NATO website.
“Experts from allied countries visited the Zhytomyr Military Institute named after Sergei Korolev in September to help establish a new cybersecurity course. Ukraine is one of the first partner countries (together with Tunisia) where such a course is being created,” the message says.
NATO experts provided examples of the construction of cyber defense training courses, in particular in the military academies of Canada, Poland and Ireland, which adapted the NATO Generic Reference Curriculum on Cybersecurity to the training programs. They provided Ukrainian military education specialists with a step-by-step demonstration of the organization of the educational process, taking into account national needs and characteristics, including the development of a curriculum, detailed outlines for lectures and laboratory exercises.
According to the report, the practical exercises focused on various types of cyber operations to support military missions under several plausible scenarios. Ukrainian methodologists, under the guidance of Alliance instructors, had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with various NATO tools and experience in this area.
A specialized course on cyber defense called “10 Principles of Cyber Security” is already available online in Ukrainian on NATO’s specialized educational portal.
12 countries participate in the NATO Defense Education Enhancement Programme: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Moldova, Serbia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Tunisia and Ukraine.
