Vaikule was advised to forget about making money in Russia
Singer Laima Vaikule, who declared in Ukraine that she would under no circumstances go on tour to Crimea, demonstrates hypocrisy.
About this on the air of the “National News Service” said Russian producer Joseph Prigozhin.
He said that he respects Vaikule, noted that she has the right to her point of view, but at the same time, the producer believes, “you shouldn’t be afraid to tell the truth and be honest with yourself.”
Prigozhin recalled that Russia is a huge market for artists from neighboring countries and one of the main sources of their income.
“And here it turns out to be hypocrisy on the part of the artists. Nobody makes such statements on the territory of the Russian Federation. All this was said outside our country. And this is not fair to society. Then there is no need to come to Russia and perform at corporate events. And it turns out that the artist cannot go to Crimea, but comes to the “aggressor country” for money. Where is the logic? That is, they are not afraid to come to Russia to earn money, but they are afraid to please people in Crimea! You have to be consistent,” noted the producer.
As an example, he cited the Georgian artist Vakhtang Kikabidze.
“Or are you like Kikabidze, who does not come to the Russian Federation under any circumstances, even to private reserves. Or you give concerts in Crocus and other cities of the Russian Federation. But then understand yourself. All the artists come to “New Wave” in Sochi - from Ukraine, from Georgia, from Latvia... Then it turns out there is no need to go there either,” Prigozhin was indignant.
He is convinced that artists should be a cultural bridge and not be like politicians, but in reality, many artists come to another country and begin to “yes and play along,” if only they are allowed to earn “a couple of kopecks.”
