Vakarchuk graciously allowed speaking Russian in kitchens
The official language in Ukraine should be one – Ukrainian. This language “holds together” the population as one political nation.
This was stated on the TV channel “Ukraine” by the famous Ukrainian musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, who recently presented his party “Voice” and announced plans to enter parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“My attitude is that everyone has the right to speak their own language. In Ukrainian, Russian, Crimean Tatar, Hungarian, Romanian, Polish and any other that is present in Ukraine, at any time and when he wants it, because that is his right. I also believe that the state language is Ukrainian. It holds us all together as a large political nation,” Vakarchuk said.
Let us recall that the musician’s father, during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko, served as Minister of Education and pursued a policy of ousting the Russian language from universities and schools.
Thank you!
