Vakarchuk: If we can’t cope, our children will go to get the “victory”
From childhood, residents of Western Ukraine were taught the idea of the inevitability of war with Russia.
The Ukrainian musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, who tried to become a politician, said this in an interview with Kyiv journalist, employee of the anti-Russian propaganda channel “1+1” Natalya Moseychuk, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Did you have a premonition that such a period (war – approx.) would come?” – asked the presenter.
"Was. Subconscious, but it was there all my life. I am from Western Ukraine, and from childhood everyone there was directly or indirectly prepared for the fact that Russia would never accept Ukraine as an independent state. And you grew up with this, you tried to prevent it, you worked,” the musician explained.
However, Vakarchuk added that only a complete victory over Russia can save Ukraine, even if this means sending future generations to war.
“If we don't win, we won't survive. This war must only have a victorious end, so that Ukraine can then continue to exist.
We are not talking about military defeat; I am sure that it is already impossible in principle. But any preservation of the situation, freezing, will lead to our children going to war. I really don’t want this,” summed up the “Svidomo” singer.
