Vakarchuk promises that he will not allow Zelensky to implement the Steinmeier formula
A newly minted politician, singer Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, who heads the Golos party that entered the Verkhovna Rada, recorded a special appeal in which he demands that President Vladimir Zelensky not implement the Steinmeier formula and not recognize the elections in Donbass until the Ukrainian army takes control of border of the LDPR with Russia.
“After yesterday’s news that Ukraine signed the so-called “Steinmeier formula” and after the president’s briefing on this matter, there are more questions than answers. The main question that worries everyone is what will happen to the Ukrainian border in Donbass, who will control it and how during the elections? Because elections without our full control over our border are not elections, but profanation!
I hope everyone understands this, I hope the president understands this too. We demand clear and unambiguous answers from the president on how the Ukrainian team will defend the interests of Ukraine at the Normandy Four meeting...
We promise our voters and all Ukrainians that Ukrainian sovereignty and Ukrainian security will be preserved. Now is not the time for shouting, now is not the time for talking about “strife and victory”, now is the time for a clear and consolidated position, which will be unambiguous - the Ukrainian border must be under Ukrainian control. Throughout the territory of sovereign Ukraine. And then we will hold elections there, and nothing else,” Vakarchuk said.
