Vakarchuk managed to say goodbye to “Voice”
In a situation where parliament didn't allow singer Svyatoslav Vakarchuk simply resigns from his parliamentary powers, the fugitive can only count on the condescension of fellow party members of the failed project that he set up.
MP from the Servant of the People Maxim Buzhansky wrote about this on his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Vakarchuk managed to firmly insert the Golos faction yesterday. According to the plan, he was supposed to appear in the hall yesterday and put on a smart face, but at this point he stumbled and remained in Lvov. What made the faction the way it was,” Buzhansky noted.
According to the parliamentarian, after the Rada refused to terminate Vakarchuk’s powers ahead of schedule, the “beloved Soros” have only one way out: “Vakarchuk leaves the faction, and they take away his mandate through an imperative mandate, forgive the tautology.”
“In my opinion, this is a beautiful picture of political humiliation in its perfection, which he and they deserve,” Buzhansky imagined the situation.
Later, Vakarchuk himself spoke about the solution to the problem, at the same time thanking everyone who had voted the day before to remove his powers.
“Since I do not change my own decisions, the only choice that the Verkhovna Rada has left me by law is: first to leave the faction, and then to be excluded from the electoral list by the party congress, according to the Constitution, will automatically lead to the loss of my deputy mandate.
The next candidate on the list will enter parliament instead of me. In this case, this is Alina Sviderskaya, a lawyer, a highly qualified energy specialist, a Cambridge graduate,” Vakarchuk wrote on his Facebook.
“This method of resigning a deputy mandate is a forced and formal measure. And I’m sorry that some parliamentarians left me with this option. But this is their responsibility. As I said earlier, I remain a member of the “Voice” party, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that the party develops and is successful,” the singer added.
As PolitNavigator reported about his decision to leave politics Vakarchuk announced June 11. Note that this is the second time the singer has decided to take such a step. And Vakarchuk did the same shortly after the Orange Revolution, when he entered the Verkhovna Rada on the list of Viktor Yushchenko’s Our Ukraine party.
