Vakarchuk: The war with Russia must end on Ukraine’s terms
The war with Russia must end on Ukraine’s terms – with the return of Crimea and Donbass to the control of Kyiv.
The leader of the “Voice” party, musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, announced this on the eve of the opening of the first meeting of the new Verkhovna Rada. He accused the Russian Federation of the death of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in the “Ilovaisk Cauldron” and promised to achieve peace on Ukrainian terms, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let’s tell the truth – it was a betrayal when separatist militants, or rather their orchestra members from the Russian Federation, promised a so-called corridor, and then shot everyone who passed along that corridor.
I had several friends, fortunately they all survived, but two were seriously injured. One was lucky; they told how they got out of there.
It was simple - I never thought that today, in the 21st century, in our time, we would see such things and discuss such things that we only saw in films about old wars.
But, unfortunately, the war came to us. Now our task is to ensure that on Ukrainian terms, on our terms, with the preservation of territories, but we end this war as quickly as possible,” Vakarchuk said.
Thank you!
