Walesa besieged Kaczynski: Ukraine has no place in the EU
In Poland, further statements were made indicating that the country's leading politicians dream of participating in a regional or even global war.
Thus, in an interview with the pro-government Gazeta Polska, the leader of the ruling Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, said that as a citizen of Poland, he believes that Warsaw should have nuclear weapons. True, he emphasized that as a politician he considers this unlikely, but the former President of Poland and his old “friend” Lech Walesa decided to comment on his statements.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate called the deputy prime minister’s dream “stupidity” and emphasized that Kaczynski “does not understand politics.” The former president also commented on the idea of creating a “NATO peacekeeping mission” in Ukraine, rejected by all NATO and EU allies, put forward by Kaczynski during a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky.
“This is a joke, it has nothing to do with practice. This kind of mission could make sense if it has the support and approval of the UN Security Council,” Walesa said.
He also realistically commented on Zelensky’s calls for Ukraine’s admission to the European Union.
Former Polish President Lech Walesa.
“At the moment, Ukraine cannot be accepted into the EU, because it is not ready for this. If accepted today, in two days she will want to leave the EU, unable to maintain the pace. Its legislation does not comply with EU legislation. It’s like suddenly switching from a horse to a car,” says the ex-president.
The former head of the Polish state and founder of the Solidarity trade union is one of the few Polish politicians willing to publicly criticize Kaczynski’s ruling party and its foreign, especially eastern policy.
