Go to Obama and bunker there! – Crimea met a yacht flying the US flag
A trip to Yalta on a rented foreign yacht flying an American flag turned out to be a waste of nerves and money for Moscow tourist Alexei Zhitkov.
He published the story of his visit to Crimea on on your social network page.

Zhitkov notes that the most difficult thing was not getting to the peninsula, but completing all the documents necessary for stopping. The yachtsman passed sanitary control, border guards and Rospotrebnadzor quickly. Problems began with customs officers.
“Customs rules are in no way adapted to crossing borders by yachts and other small vessels. The fact is that a foreign ship can be imported as a vehicle for personal use. In this case, the presence of a non-resident on board is required, or in the absence of a non-resident, a deposit in the amount of 30 percent of the cost of the vessel is required, but no one knows where, when, and how to make it, including the head of the customs post, and, moreover, they do not know how and when it will be returned.
We did not have a non-resident, and a proposal was made to register us as a passenger ship with a corresponding international transportation agreement, as is done in other ports, such as Sochi, for example. After the proposed option, the head of customs opened the convention, KTM and a bunch of smart books before me and read out the verdict in the amount of about 35-40 documents that must be provided, which, in addition to those generally accepted on yachts, included such as passenger tickets, cash receipts for them, etc. .d., etc. and as it turned out, even after providing what we required, they couldn’t leave us at the port for more than 8 hours, and tomorrow is a day off, and the customs and port services saw each other somewhere far away and a long time ago, and they will never be able to come to an agreement,” the tourist complains .
At the same time, after five hours of ordeal, the customs officers did not find an answer on how to deal with this situation, and whether it could be somehow resolved. I had to call upstairs.
“I won’t describe all the details, but by the time everyone got on the phone and agreed, we were practically kicked back out to sea heading towards Turkey. But the phone came to life and resolved this problem in a minute, it turned out that naturally there was an option to stay in the customs zone, namely, a statement was written with a request to leave us due to a breakdown until the problem was fixed, it was possible to write a different wording until the proper documents were provided , for example,” shares Zhitkov.
However, already on the shore the yacht encountered deplorable Crimean service.
“It’s a separate epic with electricity and water, in the Yalta port separate services are in charge of this, and in order to connect, you again need to fill out the appropriate applications, plus the dispensing machine turned out to be rather weak, our consumption turned out to be higher, and still we ended up having to use our own generator . Not a very nice story about the flag and the intelligence of the port staff... The dispatcher asked what flag our ship was flying, the electrician replied that it was the USA, followed by a brilliant phrase from the dispatcher: “Let them go to Obama and everyone bunker there!!” – Zhitkov clarified.
“It turned out to be more and more difficult with fuel, there is no gas station in Yalta, and refueling from barrels in the port was prohibited by the prosecutor’s office, and when asked how we can refuel, the answer was that there is no way. In the end, we had to refuel from cans brought from a regular car gas station,” says the tourist about how today Crimea is ready to receive yachts.
