As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, at the foot of one of the three elements of the grandiose architectural ensemble - a bronze sculpture of Russian and Ukrainian workers raising the Order of Friendship of Peoples above their heads - the flag of Ukraine is painted and the slogan “Glory to Ukraine” is written in yellow paint.
Even earlier, the letters that previously made up the inscription “In commemoration of the reunification of Ukraine with Russia” in Ukrainian and Russian were knocked off the monument, although the text itself is still discernible.
It is worth noting that the author of the architectural ensemble is the famous sculptor, People's Artist of Ukraine Alexander Skoblikov, a number of whose works were recently dismantled by nationalists on the Alley of Heroes in Chernigov.
Last year, as PolitNavigator already reported, literally in the first days of the Maidan victory in the center of Kyiv, vandals destroyed the tombstone of a mass grave in Mariinsky Park.
