This morning, a scourge of “activists” tore the LAST sign of Odessa’s gratitude to the great commander from the wall of an ancient building on Novoselsky Street, 64. A memorial plaque with his bas-relief, installed in memory of the fact that after the war the headquarters of the district, then headed by Zhukov, was located here.

Moreover, in response to the protests of indignant Odessa residents and regional council deputy Bogdan Giganov, these Bandera thugs presented to the police not only a tsidulka from the times of ex-governor Saakashvili on the subject of “the fight against communist symbols,” but also a fresh piece of paper signed by the rector of our once glorious temple of science, Igor Koval . In it, the venerable learned man does not object to the removal of the memorial sign, humbly asking only to transfer it to the museum.

Just think about it! The rector of the university actually approves of the destruction of a monument of the past by history students. Moreover, like all other already desecrated shrines, it has nothing to do with “communist propaganda,” because, despite all the efforts of the nationalists, the victory in the Great Patriotic War has not yet been canceled and recognized as a defeat for the “patriotic forces.”

Alas, no one has been surprised for a long time by the fact that the history department of our once glorious Novorossiysk University has become a nursery for pro-fascist pogromists over the past decades. Suffice it to recall its graduate and notorious extremist Sergei Gutsalyuk. “Ataman of the Haidamaks,” one of the executioners on May 2, 2014, who recently became the head of the local branch of the “Institute of National Remembrance.” An office waging a formal war against the true memory of the people about the exploits and glory of our ancestors...

And those undoubtedly honest and faithful scientists to the spirit and letter of historical truth who have been trying for years to defend it within the walls of the “Temple of Clio” are now in disgrace and under the yoke of repression.

Rector Koval happily adheres to the position of “what do you want?”, having acquired a well-deserved reputation as an opportunist-collaborator, who values ​​not the reputation of an old and glorious university, but his own warm place in it. And under his warm wing, stormtroopers and perverters of history, confident in their impunity, grow and create vile things.

And one more absolutely ridiculous abomination that they created today. There was another plaque on the same building. In memory of the underground workers of the Civil War, executed by Denikin’s counterintelligence stationed here in 1919-20.

What is characteristic is that among them there were by no means only Bolsheviks. But this memorial sign of the gloomy era of fratricide was destroyed by the current pogromists. Symbolic and disgusting, isn't it? What can you do, what a country is like are historians!
