Vandals terrorize the main memorial of the hero city of Kerch
In Kerch, the Eternal Flame memorial again suffered at the hands of vandals.
This time, unknown people threw plastic bottles and letters knocked off the monument at the burner, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the press service of the Kerch administration, the incident occurred on August 2.
“Traces of burnt plastic were again found at the memorial. Also, some of the letters torn out by vandals from the inscriptions located along the perimeter of the cube of the “Eternal Flame” were thrown into the burner, the press service reported.
On the eve of July 30, employees of the ZhilserviceKerch municipal unitary enterprise had already cleaned out the plastic-filled star above the flame and replaced the burner. In the 20th of July, several letters disappeared from the Eternal Flame, as well as from the stele with the names of heroes.
After media publications about vandalism, the prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee intervened in the case. Vandals are identified using recordings from surveillance cameras. After catching the scum, law enforcement officers will give a fundamental legal assessment of their actions.
