Bartholomew continues to reap the fruits of his meanness
On Saturday, the Archdiocese of Western European parishes of the Russian tradition (“Russian Exarchate” in Europe) left the subordination of the Patriarchate of Constantinople and became part of the Russian Orthodox Church.
This was reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda. It is noted that after a breakdown in communication between Moscow and Constantinople due to the creation of the “aftocephalous” Ukrainian church, the latter decided to dissolve the “Russian Exarchate”, which refused to submit, and on September 14, 2019, its head, Archbishop John (Renneto), sent an appeal to Patriarch Kirill with a request to accept them “into canonical communion and unity” with the Moscow Patriarchate.
This appeal was considered and approved by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
“The acceptance of Archbishop John (Renneto) into the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate is a very important decision, which, in my opinion, is due to the overcoming, to a large extent, of the historical circumstances that caused the emergence of this canonical entity within the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It is characteristic that, unlike Phanar, which tried to completely level out the original status of the Archdiocese, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church emphasized that the form of canonical existence of these parishes will take into account a number of their features,” Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy head of the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for relations with society and the media, told the publication. .
In turn, religious scholar Roman Silantiev does not rule out that Constantinople may lose other parts of it.
"Great news! Common sense won. Bartholomew continues to reap the fruits of his vile act. Perhaps this trend will continue, and this is not the last part of the Patriarchate of Constantinople that will join us. Now nothing stops them,” Silantiev emphasized.
Today, the Archdiocese of Orthodox Russian Churches in Western Europe consists of 65 parishes, 11 churches, 2 monasteries and 7 monasteries in France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium and Scandinavia.
As PolitNavigator reported, the OCU was created in Kyiv from schismatics under the patronage of Bartholomew Not a single local church recognized it.
