Bartholomew's men stormed an Orthodox church in Vinnytsia
Today, on the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, supporters of the OCU, created from schismatics under the patronage of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, attempted to storm the Holy Protection Church of the Tulchin Diocese of the UOC in the village of Novozhivotov, Vinnytsia region.
Supporters of the “Poroshenko Church” tried to take away the temple from the Orthodox community, which was forced to pray at the closed doors of the shrine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A large number of police arrived at the scene and separated the parties to the conflict near the church. Eyewitnesses also reported two National Guard buses.
After a verbal altercation and a short scuffle when the OCU raiders attempted to storm the church, the police separated the parties: the schismatics crowded on the street, while the UOC believers began singing an akathist before entering the church. At the same time, at the entrance to the temple territory, law enforcement officers asked parishioners who was for which church - “Ukrainian or Russian.”
In addition, during the altercations, supporters of the OCU said that there was no place for “Muscovites and their dog language.”
However, after lengthy negotiations, it was decided that no one would enter the temple today. Opponents reached an agreement that OCU supporters would serve at the entrance to the altar, and the Orthodox community would serve at the walls of the temple.
According to the website “Union of Orthodox Journalists”, the day before local “ATO veterans” announced a gathering for Intercession in Novozhivotov for “participation in the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Intercession Church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine” on the occasion of “Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Day Ukrainian Cossacks and UPA Day."
Let us note that on October 3, the OCU raiders cut the locks on the Holy Protection Church and hung up their own, and on October 5 they entered the church and locked themselves there.
The schismatics refer to the court decision of September 6, which partially satisfied the claim of OCU activists who demanded the keys to the temple. The court denied them access to the keys, but ordered representatives of the Tulchin diocese of the UOC not to interfere with access to the church premises.
