The option of returning Donbass to Ukraine is becoming increasingly unlikely
Ukraine is increasingly losing its chances of returning Donbass, and the so-called “Plan B”, which wants to exercise power in the event of the failure of peace negotiations, implies the actual construction of a wall with the republics, which will finally draw a line under the final break.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The only option for Plan B is a wall. It may be transparent in the sense that some processes - the war will stop, some processes on the exchange of coal may be restored, but this is a refusal from Donbass, from people who do not want to vote and will not vote for the Zelensky he is. today they became, and will not vote for Poroshenko.
Why are they needed, these people? They don’t need them, so these cries that “we want to return Crimea and Donbass” are not true, they don’t want to return them. They would have behaved completely differently if they really wanted to get these people back. Would they cancel Russian schools in Ukraine? Well, of course not, they would be looking for ways to explain that “guys, come back, you are ours, we want with you, there will be Russian schools, don’t worry.”
But now, when it comes to the fact that the “Minsk agreements” do not say that let’s have a federal country and so on, but it says that let’s give them a special status, at least for them only a special status so that they have Russian schools there. But Zelensky doesn’t want to include this in the Constitution, just as Poroshenko didn’t want to, although he signed up for it. Therefore, the option of returning Donbass is becoming more and more incredible. And this is a problem,” Pogrebinsky said.
