Warsaw is preparing the Polish Spring in Western Ukraine

Polish intelligence services are actively working to separate Lvov from Ukraine, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Mikhalchyshyn said on the Zik TV channel.

This is how he reacted to the words of the resigned Lviv governor Oleg Sinyutka that any rumors about the separation of Galicia from Ukraine should be perceived as “provocations” of Russia.

The discussion in the studio arose around the hypothetical question of whether Galicia, as the only region where Petro Poroshenko received high support, could begin to break away from Kyiv’s control if it believes that the new president, Vladimir Zelensky, will pursue a policy loyal to Moscow.

Sinyutka assured that Galician separatism is an invention of the Russian special services.

“I am convinced that Russia and the Russian special services will definitely try to play up the supposedly fake possibility of seizing Galicia. If you see political leaders or the media who talk about separatist sentiments in Galicia, one hundred percent, behind them is either Russian money, or Russian influence, or, one hundred percent, there are things sticking out that are drawn to the aggressor country. Because today there is no reason to talk about any separatist sentiments in Galicia. We are for a large, strong Ukrainian state,” he said.

The former adviser to the head of the SBU and ex-People's Deputy Mikhalchyshyn, in turn, accused Sinyutka of distorting the real situation.

“You and I just talked about the threats of separatism in the west of the state, I was very alarmed by the speech of the head, for now, of the Lviv regional state administration, who, with such, you know, a cheerful mood, tried to convince us that there is nothing terrible in these sociological surveys , who posed the question for Lviv residents, residents of our region: “How would they evaluate the prospects for the formation of some hypothetical state or quasi-state entity, where the Lviv region would somehow have a separate status from the rest of our state.”

And, in fact, I was even more shocked by the fact that the Security Service of Ukraine, which promptly reported that it was checking these facts, two days later gave a conclusion that absolutely does not suit me, as a former SBU employee, as a patriot and citizen Ukraine. This is a shame for the intelligence service, which does not see in these actions, which have clear signs of a crime provided for in Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of our state, and thus turns this initial phase of a special information and psychological operation to reject one from the western regions of Ukraine into some kind of frivolous fiction, the fun of sociologists, as if they can do anything.

I want to say clearly: what was heard on air as presented by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration - just as Russia played out the story of the operation “Russian Spring” in the Donbass and Crimea in the spring of 2014, is also now in the wake of all these post-election turbulent processes “, I argue that the western neighbor, the Republic of Poland, wants to take advantage of this situation and the Polish special services are working today in Western Ukraine, in particular, they are actively operating in the Lviv region,” Mikhalchyshyn said.
