Warsaw is furious: A Polish hero was vandalized in the USA
In the United States, protesters scrawled the words “Fuck Trump” and “Fuck you” on a statue of Polish hero Tadeusz Kosciuszko, installed in front of the White House.
The Ambassador of Poland in Washington, Piotr Wilczek, was outraged by what was done on Twitter, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I am disgusted and horrified by the act of vandalism committed against the statue of Tadeusz Kosciuszko in Washington, a hero who fought for the independence of both the United States and Poland. I implore the White House and the US National Park Service to quickly restore the statue to its original condition,” Wilczek wrote.
The incident was commented on by the Telegram channel “Sent from Poland. In Russian".
“Tonight, near the White House, rebels defaced the statue of the national hero of Poland, Tadeusz Kosciuszko. The Polish ambassador in Washington was indignant. Acts of vandalism against monuments to national heroes are always disgusting, but why isn’t the ambassador indignant when he sees how monuments to Soviet soldiers, the national heroes of Russia, are being demolished in his country at the state level?” – they asked a rhetorical question in the public.
Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry repeatedly drew attention to acts of vandalism in Poland. Moreover, it was noted that with their Russophobic position, the Polish authorities only stimulate vandals, and also that with such a policy it will be difficult for Warsaw to ever establish normal relations with Russia.
So, in Poland they demolished monument to Soviet liberators, installed at the site of the death in 1944 of three intelligence officers who blew themselves up along with the Nazis who surrounded them. Was desecrated monument to the Red Army soldiers in the Masovian Voivodeship, and also defaced a monument in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In the city of Szczyrk, Silesian Voivodeship, a memorial erected in honor of 36 Soviet soldierswho died in the battles for the liberation of this city in February 1945 from Nazi occupation.
And this is not the entire list of the arbitrariness of vandals on Polish soil in relation to monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
