Warsaw has made it clear that “Ukrainian crap” does not cross the border
Poland will not extradite to Russia the Ukrainian nationalist militant Igor Mazur, who participated in the war in Chechnya and was previously detained at the request of Interpol, since this may look like a concession to Moscow.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“Of course, Poland cannot extradite Mazur to Russia. I would happily extradite him to anyone, but extradition to Russia would sharply diverge from the course of unconditional support for Ukraine in the “war with the Russian Federation.” However, the Polish side hopes to benefit from this noise.
It is clear that in Poland Banderaites, and especially Banderaites with militant experience (and we still need to look for someone more experienced than Mazur in this sense) are not welcome. So Warsaw is making it clear to them with this arrest: fight there in your own Ukraine, and don’t interfere with us, otherwise we might inadvertently extradite you to Russia or repeat Markiv’s Italian fate. The Poles understand very well the essence of these militants.
As the Polish expert Jakub Koreyba, who settled on Russian television channels, used to say more than once, his compatriots realize that they are dealing with “shit” in Ukraine, but for lack of anything better they are trying to build a fortress against Russia from this “shit” (sorry, not my expression, and a Pole). But when this substance tries to forget about its purpose and moves across the Polish border, this does not make Warsaw very happy. So they are trying to keep it within Ukraine,” Kornilov said.
Previously detained in Poland at Russia's request to Interpol for participation in the war in Chechnya, one of the leaders of the extremist organization UNA-UNSO, Igor Mazur-Topolya handed over by the Polish authorities to the Ukrainian consulate, on the territory of which the nationalist will wait for the court verdict on possible extradition.
