“They’ve been nagging you for 25 years” – in Kyiv they storm the Rada and call for the “Armenian scenario”
Today’s rally at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine escalated into clashes with law enforcement officers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Miners, military pensioners, Chernobyl survivors and Afghan veterans gathered outside the parliament, demanding the adoption of social laws.
The miners also demanded the allocation of 6 billion hryvnia for the development of the coal industry. Representatives of public organizations and people's deputy Sergei Kaplin spoke to the audience.
“The truth is that for 27 years, Afghans, Chernobyl victims and other ordinary people, as people say, have been f*cked,” the deputy said.
He called for a protest according to the “Armenian scenario” - the main highways in the country should be blocked, headquarters should be created in the regions, and a tent city should be erected in front of the Verkhovna Rada.
The protesters gathered a delegation that entered parliament, but some of those standing on the sidelines demanded more active action.
The protesters broke through the cordon, after which clashes with the police began. Police managed to contain the protesters, but several people were slightly injured.
