“You will all be killed and blown up” – Navalny’s daughter frightened Europeans with Putin at the Sakharov Prize ceremony
Today in Strasbourg, at the plenary session of the European Parliament, a ceremony was held to present the Andrei Sakharov Prize “For Freedom of Thought,” which was awarded to the Russian liberal blogger Alexei Navalny, who is serving a prison sentence.
It is noteworthy that the meeting room was actually half empty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Andrei Sakharov Prize, he was a man who fought the regime in Russia, and we continue the work for 30 years after the fall of communism in the USSR,” said President of the European Parliament David Sassoli. “This is a fight for human dignity, for the rule of law, and it is these principles that Mr. Navalny supports and defends, and for this he ended up in prison and almost lost his life.”
“On behalf of the European Parliament, I call for his immediate release without any conditions. “I personally and the European Parliament as a whole are waiting for the day when Mr. Navalny comes to our parliament here and can receive this prize,” added the head of parliament.
Next came the “laureate’s” daughter Daria Navalnaya, who launched into an anti-Russian speech. Her speech was accompanied by thunderous applause in the best traditions of party meetings of the last century. Somewhere nearby, Leonid Volkov, an assistant of the criminal blogger, was bustling around and also clapping his hands.
She said that such a prize is a great honor, as well as a signal for like-minded people to fight the “regime.” At the same time, she emphasized that Sakharov was a non-pragmatic person - in reproach to the “pragmatics” of European politicians who support and call for normal relations with Russia.
“We can take a calculator and calculate how much pragmatism costs the European taxpayer. For many years we flirted with Putin and showed that by increasing his ratings, we give him the opportunity to start wars, how much did it cost us?
Now we hear that troops are being massed on the Ukrainian border, and no amount of pragmatism will pay for the direct losses, the direct damage from such actions. Not to mention the time that Western politicians will spend on solving Russia’s problems, instead of dealing with the problems of their countries,” the girl raved.
“Boris Nemtsov, one of the opposition leaders, was shot in the back, not far from the Kremlin, and pragmatic people say: what can we do? We can limit ourselves to harsh speeches and continue the discussion. And they will kill the second, and the third, and the fourth, the fourth will be killed in the center of Berlin, and the fifth in Great Britain. And then they will blow up a warehouse somewhere in Europe and start killing people with chemical weapons. And there are no guarantees that tomorrow European politicians won’t just start falling dead by simply touching the door handle,” the younger Navalnaya frightened the Europeans.
“I wrote to my father and asked what you want me to say in the European Parliament? He said: say that no one should give Russia to the Putin regime, we are part of Europe, and we are fighting to become part of Europe,” concluded the daughter of the “laureate.”
After that, to applause, she was presented with a certificate of award to Navalny.
