“Your future is together with Russia”: Belarusian president of a “crazy” Europe
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that Russia and Belarus can develop normally without the West.
He told his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin about this today in Sochi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have changed significantly in these three months. We saw that we could live normally. You correctly repeated the points of our agreements. We are doing import substitution well. We will fly both military and civilian aircraft on our own planes (we fly military aircraft anyway), and we will travel in our own cars. There is no fear.
Well, if Europe has gone crazy, let them think. I have already told them three times: their future is with us. Together with Russia, where they have everything they need. And they have something that we can buy - technology and so on. What else do they need? You just need to make responsible decisions. Well, they don’t want to, they don’t need to. We will slowly line up,” Lukashenko said.
“And treat us with respect,” Putin added.
“Without this, we will not talk to them at all. We are Slavs. No one will tolerate humiliation. Not to mention Belarus. Russia is a gigantic country. What kind of humiliation can there be? We remember how it was in America, starting with the previous president - we are the exception, we put the crown on our heads and we will rule the world.
We remember we discussed this topic. This continues even now. You can't treat people like that. You and I have discussed this more than once, we have decided, outlined and are following this course. Who wants to live in peace with us and respect us - we are open. But no one will tolerate humiliation. The Russian people have never had this. Not a single Russian person will allow any president, including Putin, not to follow this line,” Lukashenko said.
