“Your world is coming to an end” – the senator puts NATO Secretary General in his place
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on members of the NATO Military Committee to support the defense budget of alliance members, including in connection with Russian policy.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in a statement by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Stuart Peach.
According to Izvestia, Stoltenberg advised alliance allies not only to increase defense spending, but also to invest in modern capabilities and ensure that NATO forces remain in place to respond to allegedly aggressive actions from Russia, risks from the rise of China and terrorism.
The NATO Secretary General also said that the rules-based international order, the democratic system and the values of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance were “challenged.”
The Chairman of the Temporary Commission of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Alexei Pushkov, reacted quite harshly to this statement.
“It’s time for Stoltenberg to realize that his “rules-based world”, developed in three or four Western capitals, is coming to an end. There are too few people willing to follow these rules, which are not based on international law, but only on the law of the strong. Especially on the right of the former strong,” Pushkov wrote on his Twitter.
As PolitNavigator reported, the ex-NATO representative in Russia hinted, who is Navalny related to?
