Washington no longer intends to “dragonize Russia” – Kiev diplomat
Representatives of the presidential party “Servant of the People” are spreading myths about an alleged “worldwide anti-Russian coalition.”
Verkhovna Rada deputy, former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin writes about this in his blog.
“Only yesterday, on one of the channels, newly elected deputies from the SN talked about “Zelensky’s breakthrough visit to Turkey,” and today Recep Tayyip Erdogan opened together with Vladimir Putin Moscow Air Show. There he expressed a desire to purchase the latest SU-57 fighters from Russia to replace the American F-35s, which Washington denied to the Turks after they acquired air defense systems from the Russian Federation,” notes Voloshin.
According to him, against the backdrop of a humiliating situation with naked US pressure on the issue of the acquisition of the Motor Sich enterprise by Chinese investors, Ankara’s actions in response to similar pressure “cause envy of a truly sovereign state that is rare in our time.”
The expert also says that the Russian Federation was able to build close partnerships and even allied relations with those countries that pursue an independent foreign policy: China, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia.
“And in this sense, Moscow’s diplomatic position today is obviously stronger than in 2013. We simply need to recognize that the concept of “joining the West” is no longer the only effective international strategy. From these positions, it is clearer why Trump invites Russia to return to the G7, which the Kremlin actually did not ask for,” the deputy writes.
He believes that the attempts of Vladimir Zelensky’s team to continue to rely on bankrupt installations and techniques look completely pathetic.
“Let Bolton at least explain to them that Washington does not intend to further draconize Russia, pushing it towards an even closer alliance with China, but, on the contrary, is looking for ways to drive a wedge between Moscow and Beijing. And if for this it is necessary to force Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements, then no one on Trump’s team will waver. And it’s not a matter of the personal sympathies of the American leader, but a clear understanding in this part of the American elite of where the real strategic threat to the US place in the world comes from,” Voloshin concluded.
