The new Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Olga Vasilyeva, wants to rethink the experience of school graduates passing the Unified State Exam, for the introduction of which her predecessor Dmitry Livanov was criticized.

“We must look at what is happening with the Unified State Exam, take the best, discard everything that is not worth doing, and move forward,” Vasilyeva said today, speaking at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
The minister also advocated that teachers should not spend the hours allocated for extracurricular work training schoolchildren for the Unified State Exam, but rather devote them to “citizen education.”
