An important blow was dealt to Ukrainian Nazis on TV
The concert at Inter in honor of Victory Day, which caused controversy in the press and pogroms of Ukrainian nationalists, received a staggering number of views. 13 million viewers on TV alone. And 200 thousand grateful reviews per day. What does this mean?
I will not repeat the platitudes that this is a protest or that this is a heroic act.
I personally am very pleased that the rating theorists have been confirmed to be wrong. Those who believe that it should be increased with the help of brutal figures who present in a boorish form the generally accepted opinion in the media community. It is enough to show people what they themselves want to see. Something that doesn’t hurt their ears and something where they speak the way they speak, and not the way it’s customary or expected.
Imagine: no Ganapolsky on the screen, not a single “Svoboda” member - and 13000000 people came to the TV at the same time! What does this mean? Yes, about the fact that if you want to be watched, to be listened to, talk not to people, but to people!
Of course, I understand that there is also a specific audience, for example, fans of American TV series with Ukrainian dubbing or simply those who are interested in cooking and fishing, as well as those who adore dogs and cats. She watches her channels, which are also specific. And, most importantly, no news and no politics at all.
There are, of course, purely informational and analytical channels like Newsone or 112. Well, yes, a format that requires talking heads, smart thoughts and speakers of flowery speech. So pick them up, and don’t just pick up the first one you come across at the nearest trash heap!
It would seem that it is very simple. This is how Kharkov TV journalist Antonina Abashnik describes such a simple skill: “I would like to recommend this to some producers: if you put someone in the frame, and this person’s brain is not up to the mark (neither volume nor message), then at least with the appearance do something so that at least... it’s not annoying. Otherwise - on the radio, if it is absolutely impossible to refuse. Nobody canceled the picture, but if you don’t have the brain power, you start counting all the bugs on the backdrop or switching them.”
This approach is not censorship at all, but simply hygiene. After all, in order to visit a swimming pool, for example, you need a certificate stating that your skin is clean, but to participate in a talk show, for example, a psychiatrist’s report is not necessary.
Among the “talking heads” there was a place for such outspoken Nazis as Tyagnibok and Miroshnichenko, and aggressive pseudo-experts. The presenters do not interrupt or warn their interlocutors even in the case of a clear violation of the law or rudeness.
On the same Newsone, at different times, TV programs were hosted by Oleg Lyashko and Dmitry Korchinsky, and now by Inna Bogoslovskaya, who became famous for her low socio-political responsibility. Even earlier, his face was Matvey Ganapolsky, who spewed Russophobia without borders. The owner of the channel, Evgeny Muraev, explained this policy by the need to increase the rating.
However, neither he nor the production team could explain why this very raising must necessarily be carried out among those who will never become voters of either Muraev himself or his political force! Yes, because among sponsors and investors there is a belief that “our own people are not going anywhere, but we need to work with others.”
Based on this approach, you can hire clearly unfriendly personnel for astronomical salaries, and leave your unconditional supporters and, I note in passing, no less professionals, with a clear conscience without a livelihood.
However, no matter how much you give alien propagandists money, no matter how much you offer them privileged working conditions, much more profitable than for trusted people and true like-minded people, they will wait for the moment when their time comes - the time of pogromists, looters and sadists.
It is clear that in the current Ukrainian situation it is impossible to demand strong opposition from anyone - stormtroopers can be burned, and the National Council can be deprived of their license. But you can at least remember that the ratings need to be raised at the expense of those who want people not to be hysterical and insulted on television. And so that the TV channel differs from the rest aesthetically and intonationally.
