Yesterday's events surrounding the attempt to break through the front line by Ukrainian security forces near Debaltseve developed in the form of continued shelling today with artillery, the use of which is prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

“Yesterday’s events in Debaltsevo have developed. During the night - more than 30 shellings. Yesterday afternoon - more than 150 shots from heavy artillery systems. The Ukrainian side is trying to play the card of armed escalation. And he says that you can’t even talk about preparing elections while shots are being fired,” he noted.
In turn, the speaker of the DPR parliament, Denis Pushilin, expressed his conviction that the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Debaltsevo were aimed at provoking the Donbass republics, in order to then accuse them of aggression towards the West.
“The attempt to break through in the Debaltsevo area was successful at the initial stage. Battalion-sized units entered using armored vehicles. This is a serious provocation. The reason is that various summits are to take place in the near future. Our adequate actions could be interpreted by opponents in an understandable way,” Pushilin said.
