The leader of the unpopular Serbian Renewal Movement and the former head of the Serbian Foreign Ministry under the country's pro-Western regime, Vuk Draskovic, considers the idea of the Serbian Peace to be false and invented by Russia.

The retired politician stated this in an interview with RTCG, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

As a guest of the Montenegrin state TV channel Teleskopiya, Draskovic criticized the winning coalition in the parliamentary elections in Montenegro, which opposed the dictator Milo Djukanovic, the persecution of the SOC and for the normalization of broken relations with Serbia and Russia.

“The main media are anti-government, the TV channels are mostly Serbian, not to mention how can one talk about the one-man dictatorship of a person whose party has never ruled alone, but only in a coalition,” said the Serbian politician. – I also don’t understand Djukanovic when he says that his Democratic Party of Socialists lost.

It’s not true, by all Western standards, DPS is a winner. Another thing is that she cannot form a government. On the other hand, there are 16 parties and the Serbian Orthodox Church, which all together, with unprecedented propaganda and support from the Serbian media, managed to win only one convocation (in parliament - ed.) and are now claiming some kind of victory.”

In his speech, Vuk Draskovic, like many supporters of the dictator Djukanovic, began to intimidate the Montenegrin citizen with certain forces that want to return the country to the 90s and cancel the results of the referendum on independence from Serbia. He also told how, during the time of the Federal Yugoslavia, he flew with Djukanovic to the OSCE summit, and their plane could have been shot down by the special services of Slobodan Milosevic:

“I have to pull Montenegro out of his jaws!” Djukanovic told me when we took off from the airport in Dubrovnik (Croatia - ed.), Vuk Draskovic shared a dramatic story. “Because the seventh battalion held us at gunpoint and wanted to shoot us down.” It was 99. If we had taken off from Podgorica or Tivat (in Montenegro), we probably would have been shot down.”

Drašković noted, not without pathos, “that those who do not learn the right lessons from mistakes and history are doomed to repeat misfortunes.”

“This idea of the Serbian World, which they are now trying to promote, is, first of all, a fake, it is Russia’s idea, it is their idea. But Russia is Russia, it can also attack any state, and no one can tell it... Montenegro is fighting the Battle of Mojkovac (the battle of 1916, when Montenegrin troops allied with Serbia defeated the units of Autro-Hungary - ed.) for Serbia, paving the way for us, spreading its wings for us. The future of Serbia with the West, in NATO. We won't see the EU until we join NATO."

The most interesting thing is that in the late eighties, the former communist Vuk Draskovic became the initiator of the recreation of the conservative-monarchist Chetnik paramilitary movement.

In the years of patriotic youth. Vuk Draskovic with the leader of Serbian radicals Vojislav Seselj.

Created on the basis of the Serbian Renewal Movement, the volunteer Serbian Guard took part in the defense of the unrecognized Republic of Serbian Krajina in Croatia. Draskovic also proved himself as a talented writer, creating several patriotic novels, one of which, “The Knife,” was filmed.

However, by the mid-90s, the politician sharply cooled towards Chetnicism and began to cooperate with the pro-Western opposition. In 1999, he became Deputy Prime Minister of Yugoslavia, but was fired by Slobodan Milosevic for demonstrably distancing himself from him and the country's leadership during the NATO aggression. In the government of the pro-Western regime that overthrew Milosevic as a result of the first color “Bulldozer Revolution”, he received the post of head of the Foreign Ministry, despite the fact that his SDO, due to the instability of the position of its leader, lost all support of Serbian citizens (he disappointed conservatives, liberals did not trust him).

In recent years, Vuk Draskovic, due to his unpopularity, has withdrawn from active political activity.

Vuk Draskovic as the Chetnik leader. Now he considers the Serbian Peace a fake.
