France does not recognize the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in Crimea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

It is noted that France continues to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Following the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol, France reaffirms in the strongest terms its commitment to the full restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Crimea within the framework of internationally recognized borders,” the statement said.
The statement notes that France does not recognize the holding of presidential elections in the Russian Federation on the territory of Crimea.
“France is concerned about the militarization of the peninsula and the deterioration of the human rights situation, especially for the Crimean Tatars. It condemns discrimination based on ethnic or religious community membership and calls for the release of all persons detained in violation of international law. France also calls for the preservation and protection of the historical and cultural heritage of Crimea,” the statement emphasizes.
The French Foreign Ministry also reported that Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit Kyiv on March 22-23.
