The richest woman in Russia, the widow of former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Elena Baturina, transferred money to the company of Hunter Biden, the son of US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party Joseph Biden.

Forbes writes about this with reference to the report of the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The document, in particular, states that in February 2014, Baturina transferred $3,5 million as part of a “consulting agreement” with Rosemont Seneca Thornton LLC, co-founded by Hunter Biden.

Then, between May and December 2015, Baturina made 11 more transactions amounting to $391968,21 into an account associated with the American company BAK USA, which produced tablet computers with the support of unknown Chinese investors, with 9 transactions amounting to $241. 797,14 passed through Rosemont Seneca Thornton's account before being deposited into BAK USA's account, the document states.

In May 2019, BAK USA filed for bankruptcy with a reported loss of $39 million.
Joe Biden is known as Russia's main opponent in America.

The report states that "Treasury documents ... indicate possible criminal activity related to transactions by Hunter Biden, his family, and his associates with citizens of Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and China."

Hunter Biden's name was at the center of a scandal last fall. Then The Wall Street Journal reported that during a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, US President Donald Trump asked to conduct an investigation into Biden Jr., who for five years, from 2014 to 2019, served on the board of directors of one of the largest private gas companies of Ukraine, Burisma Holdings. After this, impeachment proceedings were initiated against Trump, but the Senate acquitted the president of all charges in February 2020.

Let us recall that the son of the American vice president received his position in the Ukrainian company under President Petro Poroshenko, whose conversations with Biden were recently made public.
