“Twice better than all standards” - Shoigu spoke about the constructed defense line
The Russian army has completed the construction of a powerful defensive line along the entire front line.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated this at a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, large-scale tasks regarding the fortification equipment of the defense lines have been resolved.
Seven thousand kilometers of minefields have been created along the entire length of the battle line, which is more than two thousand kilometers. One and a half million Pyramid anti-tank barriers, two thousand kilometers of anti-tank ditches, twelve thousand prefabricated reinforced concrete structures,” Shoigu said.
“Three thousand platoon strong points, forty-five thousand dugouts and more than one hundred and fifty thousand shelters for equipment. Today, the mining depth is up to 600 meters, which is twice the usual standards.
Colossal work was carried out by military builders and engineering troops, who carried out 82% of all work. By decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the Avtodor company and civilian specialists were involved,” the minister added.
He stressed that a strong defense allows the Russian army to also focus on modernization.
“Today this work is yielding results - in the conditions of modern combat operations, approaches to the use of troops have been clarified. The tactics of combined arms combat underwent serious changes. Attack units and unmanned aircraft units have been created and deployed.
We reconsidered approaches to the formation of reserves. As a result, each army has its own reserve regiment,” Shoigu concluded.
