The hosts of Medvedchuk’s channel did not dare to switch to Russian even after Karasev
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, who works for Yulia Tymoshenko and, as a native of Kharkov, is not completely fluent in the Ukrainian language, explains his desire to speak Russian on Ukrainian channels by the fact that he is trying to convey his thoughts to the Russian opposition.
So, speaking on the 112 TV channel, he began to answer the presenters’ question in Ukrainian, but after several phrases he said:
“Since we are watched in other countries, I will switch to Russian,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenters did not object, but the political scientist decided to explain his position in Russian.
“Just so that we are better understood in Russia by our sympathizers who do not like the regime, but still support Ukraine - so that everything works out for us, so that we have European success. We are often watched on YouTube and on plates, then they write about us,” Karasev said.
It is noteworthy that the presenters, who previously allowed themselves to speak Russian even with Ukrainian-speaking guests, did not switch to “the language of the occupier” with Karasev. True, the girl slipped into Russian several times during the conversation, but immediately corrected herself.
“112” is included in the list of media outlets that are attacked by Ukrainian nationalists and is considered to be controlled by politician Viktor Medvedchuk.
