Rolling blackouts will cure Ukraine

My mother surprised me with a request the other day. She demanded to buy a gasoline generator. The women in the yard began to think about such a purchase and gave her an idea. If a pensioner’s shop in Zhitomir came to such thoughts, this means only one thing - all layers of society in central and northern Ukraine are prepared for a very difficult winter and a sharp deterioration in their financial condition. The expectation of collapse is in the air.

And this is no coincidence. We're going back to the 90s. The energy system of Ukraine is a thin balanced system. Until recently it seemed that if there is no gas, it’s not a problem, we’ll survive the winter. We will heat with electricity. But, firstly, the Ukrainian energy system is internally interdependent, and gas is an integral element of it. Secondly, there is a whole range of Ukrainian enterprises powered by gas or coal, the heat of which heats entire cities and towns. The shutdown of such enterprises will lead to unemployment and cold apartments. The rolling blackouts announced by the government will not make it possible to heat houses with oil heaters when there is no gas heating.

Transportation, production and preparation of coal will also become more difficult without gas or along with problems in the energy system. And about. Chairman of the Lviv Regional State Administration Yuriy Turyansky turned to the Minister of Energy Yuriy Prodan with a plea for help. The other day, the Lviv Coal Company enrichment plant was completely stopped, with only a salary arrears of 10 million UAH. The total amount required by the enterprise is almost 60 million, 10 of which are debt for electricity in August alone.

The subtlety of Ukraine's energy system is well illustrated by this example: coal enrichment requires electricity, and coal itself is used to generate electricity and heating. Arrears in payment for electricity, or its catastrophic shortage, rolling blackouts, will lead to interruptions in the supply of coal - the only alternative energy source to gas for thermal power plants and thermal power plants. And gas in this system is not some kind of luxury, but a necessary element to support stability.

And this is in the West of Ukraine, where there is no war, while in Donbass about 80% of the mines have already stopped. In addition, there are thermal power plants (Krivoy Rog and Zuevskaya) that operate only on a special grade of “T” coal mined in the Donbass. Mining of this brand has currently been stopped, and the port through which the African coal purchased by Yatsenyuk is to be delivered is under siege. This, by the way, is Mariupol.

And at a time when Ukraine is threatened with an energy collapse, when the “bright” economy is going into the shadows, when the “black” currency market is being revived, caused by the prohibitive measures of the National Bank to stabilize the hryvnia, at this time in Kyiv and other cities of the Center and the West, the hysteria of painting over pillars and fences in blue and yellow. And this hysteria is a phenomenon emerging from the deep foundations of the subconscious. These are symptoms of a major illness, a painful attempt to find something unifying in social life, some kind of support, an attempt to overcome anxiety from the expected disaster. The tragedy is simply unsurpassed: all that now unites a huge part of the inhabitants of Ukraine is an obscene slogan about Putin and the blue and yellow color. And nothing more…

There are no more common points of contact in public life, except for the hysteria of hatred supported by the media and two waves of light of a certain spectrum. The 9th of May and its symbol, the St. George's ribbon, are not holy, but even criminal; history, where the Ukrainian SSR and Lenin, the most important elements, are not history, but tragedy; the largest church is the Moscow Patriarchate; Labor Day was invented by the damned commies who are on the Gilyak; February 23 and March 8th too. All social bonds have been demolished, and in their place nothing has been given that truly strengthens. And winter is coming...

Feel the abyss that has opened up under the feet of Ukrainian society. Not economic, not material, not energy. Spiritual. Ordinary people in Ukraine, who do not understand politics, are either completely unconsciously confused or apathetic. The meaning of public life has been knocked out from under our feet. Others are in daily, incessant hysteria, which is already perceived as a normal state. In a large psychiatric hospital near Zhitomir, according to doctors, more than 60% of new patients are damaged by the events in the country.

But there is no silver lining. The announced rolling blackouts from 20:22 to XNUMX:XNUMX are perhaps the only thing that can save Ukraine. Imagine, during the day, every home will have two whole hours free from TV and the Internet, from chatter and chatter, from “honest news” and “objective journalism”, from the hysteria of Lyashki and Tyagnibok... Two hours for the family, two hours for communication , two hours of silence.

You see, people will come to their senses...
