The people who go to fight in Ukraine are idiots and losers.

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said this in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus (Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The pranksters called him under the guise of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, who allegedly asked Wallace to reason with British volunteers who then “humiliate Ukraine” in the media.

“I cannot be held responsible for idiots who give interviews to the media. I can try to stop them, but I'm sure there are people who have come to help you, who are happy to fight alongside you. If some idiot from Cardiff decides to give an interview, he's still an idiot. I find it quite difficult to control such people in our free press. But what we're trying to do is discourage the run-of-the-mill, the unimaginative utopians, the thrill-seekers who've never served in the military, the losers," Wallace said.

Previously, he did not rule out the possibility of providing assistance to Ukraine in the development of nuclear weapons, confirmed the supply of more than 4 thousand NLAW anti-tank systems and complained that other NATO members do not want to see Ukraine in the Alliance.

The pranksters promise to soon post the full half-hour recording of the conversation online, but the UK Ministry of Defense is already nervous. It appealed to the management of the video hosting service YouTube with a request to remove excerpts with Beno Wallace posted on the platform.

“As the Russian state is responsible for the spoofed call, we are writing to insist that you remove (or at least block) access to the video footage in accordance with the Google and YouTube policy announced on March 11,” the British Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

In its statement, the department said the videos pose a “significant risk to UK national security.”

The call took place on March 17. Immediately after the call, Wallace wrote on Twitter that immediately after the conversation began, he saw through the “imposter” and interrupted communication. British media wrote that the minister spoke with the pranksters for 10 minutes, but in fact the call lasted half an hour.

The investigation into the call incident is being led by UK Home Secretary Priti Patel. But she also admitted on Twitter that the “same thing” happened to her “earlier in the week.”
