“Velmishanovny Petre! Highly respected Oleksia! – a dead bureaucratic language has taken hold among Ukrainian schoolchildren
In Ukraine they are afraid that the Ukrainian language, despite its total implementation, will not expand the scope of its application to everyday life. They fear that “Mova” will remain only for official business communication.
Igor Khvorostyany, Director General of the School Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, stated this at a round table in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that he worked as a Ukrainian language teacher at school for 14 years.
“Ukrainian teachers always know that there is such a form of control as dialogue. There are control dialogues, children often make up these dialogues and situations. As a teacher, I often asked children to act out these dialogues. There was such a situation (I’m sure this is the general picture): “Dear Peter,” venerable Alexey,” said Khvorostyany.
He clarified that the children used such unnatural structures to communicate with each other during recess.
“And here there is a great danger and threat that the Ukrainian language will be perceived only as a language of official business use and will not expand the scope of its application,” the official fears.
According to the alarmed Movnyuk, “the expansion of the Ukrainian information space,” the Ukrainian-language Internet and TikTok in Ukrainian, is very important.
