But the main recommendations of the Venice Commission are that it is necessary to return all those linguistic rights to national minorities that are taken away by the new law on education, it is necessary to give a longer period of transformation, the introduction of Ukrainian subjects in schools of national minorities, it is necessary to free private schools where national minorities study from total Ukrainization.
And I would note a key aspect - the Venice Commission recognized that the law on education, in addition to the languages of European minorities, also discredits Russian. And the Venice Commission especially emphasized that it is necessary to amend the law on education, which should also include the Russian language, which will be granted rights, since Russian is the second spoken language after Ukrainian,” the expert said.
