The President of Belarus will flee to Crimea if Maidan Square deprives him of power.
The editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow, Alexey Venediktov, stated this on his radio station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"In Crimea. He has a residence there. It was a joke. Sarcasm,” said Venediktov.
At the same time, he believes that Lukashenko will retain power after the upcoming presidential elections.
Lukashenko recently said that Russia “chopped off Crimea,” and last year he called Sevastopol a “Ukrainian city.” Belarus, despite its ally status, has still not recognized the Russian ownership of Crimea.
