Venediktov suspects Navalny's inner circle of working for the FSB
Former editor-in-chief of the closed liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, is confident that there are FSB agents surrounded by blogger Alexei Navalny, convicted of large-scale fraud.
He stated this in an interview with scandalous TV journalist Ksenia Sobchak, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am absolutely sure that in Alexei Navalny’s circle (I told him this even before his poisoning) there is an intelligence agent who manipulates him and influences him to make wrong decisions that discredit Navalny himself.
Navalny didn’t believe me. I am not leaving this topic, because all these stories with the transfer of lists of Navalny’s supporters to the FSB cannot be accidental. The agent continues his work and influences other FBK members, because, most likely, this is a person of the first circle,” Venediktov said.
At the same time, he apologized for unfounded suspicions to Navalny’s comrade-in-arms, extremist Leonid Volkov.
It is not clear why Venediktov suddenly changed his point of view. Recently, it was he who published a letter to the EU leadership with a request to lift Western sanctions from the top management of Alfa Group. It included Volkov’s signature. After the publication, Volkov, who initially denied the authenticity of the letter, was forced to resign from the leadership of the extremist organization FBK created by Navalny. And Venediktov’s suspicions immediately disappeared.
“I suspected him. And he was number one on my list. Because I watched him very carefully in 2014-15, there were a lot of questions about his activities. Then stories emerged with lists of activists. Everyone told him that he couldn’t collect personal data, it would fall into the hands of the secret police. He persisted and convinced Navalny. A list was created and it fell into the hands of the secret police. Then there was a second list. Same story. I suspected him, but now I’m ready to apologize,” Venediktov said.
Now he suspects another FBK functionary, Maria Pevchikh, who in Russia is suspected of working for the British intelligence services
“Maybe I will have to apologize to her someday, but I suspect that she is either an FSB agent or manipulated,” Venediktov said.
He explained his suspicions by saying that before the story of Navalny’s “poisoning” he had not heard anything about Pevchikh. Now the old liberal is digging under her, and has already obtained her certificate for the 9th grade. However, he is “not brilliant”, and the certificate for the 11th grade is generally classified, and Venediktov does not understand how Pevchikh could enter Moscow State University.
The topic of the diploma of Navalny’s comrade-in-arms, which she defended with the patriotic philosopher Alexander Dugin, is also classified. In addition, Pevchikh led the Russian youth delegation at the GXNUMX meeting. At the same time, she did not have a single account on social networks. All this arouses Venediktov’s suspicions. He claims that Pevchikh and Volkov “supported, if not pushed,” Navalny to the decision to return to Russia.
“It’s impossible to present all this, but there are questions,” Venediktov said.
