Hungary and Poland have their eyes on western Ukraine
The South-East is not the only problematic region of Ukraine; in the West, the population also does not support the Kyiv authorities, and Ukraine’s European neighbors are ready to take responsibility for the people living in the border areas.

“A few days ago, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking in parliament, said that those who live in the western regions of Ukraine, Rusyns, Hungarians, are in danger. And in the future, Hungary must do everything to secure this region from Ukrainian influence.
Already in Poland there are thoughts about the return of Galician lands. Somewhere in the power structures this idea is simmering. It's like coals - if you fan them at a certain time, a flame will ignite.
Plus, more than 200 thousand Ukrainians living along the western border of Ukraine have a “Pole card”. They have the right to legally work in Poland, exit and enter. This is a visa-free regime for them. The one that Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko promises us. Where are the guarantees that these “Pole cards” will not be replaced with Polish passports?” - he said.
“I am far from thinking that these people who have a “Pole card” support the current Kyiv government. This population is already half integrated into Polish society,” says the historian.
